Emergency care whenever and wherever you need it

If you ever need dental treatment in a hurry - at any time of the day or night - help is at hand with Denplan's Supplementary Insurance. This accident and emergency cover is automatically included when you become a Denplan patient, giving you invaluable peace of mind whether you are away from home, away on business or on holiday abroad. Denplan's Emergency Helpline service is available 24 hours a day to help you find a dentist wherever you are in the world.

Family group discounts available

Discounts are available if one Direct Debit covers more than one registered Denplan patient receiving treatment at the same practice. The more family members registered, the greater the discount.

 How does Denplan Care work?

  • Denplan Care is a care contract that allows your dentist to provide ongoing preventive dental care. However, Denplan arranges on your behalf, mandatory Supplementary Insurance to contribute towards the cost of treatment required as a result of dental accidents or emergencies.
  • When you choose to become a Denplan Care patient, your dentist will assess your dental health and agree with you a programme of preventive dental care. Any treatment needed will be carried out before your Denplan Care contract begins.
  • You and your dentist then agree a monthly Denplan Care fee that spreads the cost of your ongoing  routine and preventive dental care and treatment.
  • For the dental care you receive under Denplan Care, you are in contract with your dentist For the Supplementary Insurance you are in contract with Denplan.
  • Your payment is collected by Denplan, normally via a monthly Direct Debit. Out of your total monthly payment £1.29 goes toward your Supplementary Insurance.
  • You can choose to pay your subscription monthly by Direct debit, or annually in advance either by Direct debit, cheque or by credit card to Denplan. Annual payments are calculated on a calendar year basis.
  • Please note that a one-off registration fee will be added to your first payment only, to cover initial administration costs. This is equivalent to one month's payment.

    How does Denplan Essentials work?
     
  • Denplan Essentials enables you to budget for the cost of the dental care required to monitor your oral health (covering examinations, X-rays and hygiene treatment), with the additional back-up of Denplan's worldwide 24-hour Helpline and accident and emergency insurance.
  • When you first choose to become a Denplan Essentials patient, your dentist will determine the number of examinations, hygiene appointments and X-rays you are likely to need on an annual basis.
  • Your dentist will then set the amount of your fixed monthly payment.
  • For the dental care you receive under Denplan Care, you are in contract with your dentist For the Supplementary Insurance you are in contract with Denplan.
  • Your payment is collected by Denplan, normally via a monthly Direct Debit. Out of your total monthly payment £1.29 goes toward your Supplementary Insurance.

   Denplan Care offers you:

   Routine and preventive dental care from your
   dentist
  • examinations
  • X-rays
  • necessary fillings
  • hygiene treatment (including scale and polishes)
  • preventive dental advice and therapy
  • any necessary extractions
  • periodontal (gum) treatment
  • crowns, bridges, dentures, inlays (excluding laboratory fees)
  • root fillings
    Denplan Essentials offers you:

Routine and preventive dental care (as specified by your dentist)

  • dental examinations (up to the maximum detailed in your contract)
  • X-rays
  • scaling and polishing or other hygiene treatment (up to the maximum detailed in your contract)
  • preventive dental advice
  • no assessment appointment required

 

Denplan Care does not cover:

  • laboratory fees / prescriptions
  • any treatment not specified by the dentist in your Contract
  • referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
  • treatment carried out anywhere other than at your
    registered dentist except when you need temporary
    emergency treatment
  • orthodontics, implants, cosmetic treatment
  • sedation fees

 

Denplan Essentials does not cover:

  • the cost of any restorative dental treatments including fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures (at the discretion of your dentist)
  • laboratory fees / prescriptions
  • any treatment not specified by the dentist in your Contract
  • referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
  • orthodontics, implants, cosmetic treatment
  • sedation fees


 

 

As part of Denplan Care you automatically receive Supplementary Insurance which covers:

  • 24 hour worldwide emergency Helpline when away from home
  • dental accident cover (up to £10,000 per incident)
  • temporary emergency dental treatment when away from your own dentist (up to £380 per incident. Total limit payable £760 per calendar year)
  • £60 for every night in hospital under the care of a dental or oral / maxillary-facial surgeon
  • up to £12,000 mouth cancer treatment costs for up to 12 months following a positive diagnosis
  • smokers are not excluded from this cover

 

As part of Denplan Essentials you automatically receive Supplementary Insurance which covers:

  • 24 hour worldwide emergency Helpline when away from home
  • dental accident cover (up to £10,000 per incident)

Your Supplementary Insurance does not cover:

  • permanent treatment in a dental emergency
  • emergency treatment provided by your own dentist or a dentist/ specialist acting on your dentist's behalf
